Nassau Suffolk Autism Society of America welcomes long time NSASA parent member Melissa Swailes to our Board of Directors.

From Melissa Swailes:

My family and I grew up in Huntington, attending Walt whitman high School. I was an All American soccer player at Boston University where I graduated with a BA in Psychology. I worked as a person trainer at Equinox for 8 years then started my own personal training business which I currently manage. My husband, Eric and I have two beautiful children Brooklyn (8) and Carter (7). Both who were diagnosed on the autism spectrum at the age of 2. Since then I have hosted 3 fundraisers and participated in 5 bike to the beach rides to raise awareness and acceptance for autism. I have help raised over $70,000 for NSASA. I am looking forward to my next chapter of being a board member for NSASA.

Something my family lives by is “try everything and celebrate the small things.”

…We agree 100%! Welcome Melissa and thank you for sharing your talents and time with us!
