Every emergency that requires a first-responder is chaotic, at times traumatic, and in need of a responder with good judgment, experience, and skill. When the person or persons in distress are on the autism spectrum, these events can be quite unpredictable and challenging. In the interest of helping first-responders better assist those with autism and protect citizens with special needs, we are advocating for New York Assembly Bill #A09634, NY Senate Bill #S07598.
